Standout Easter Recipe: Wasabi Deviled Eggs, naturally gluten-free
Glutenista: "I originally turned my nose up when my sister brought these, as I hate deviled eggs. One bite of these spicy treats had me hooked & we all gobbled them up! Now they are an Easter fave."

EASTER HOSTING TIPS:
If you host an annual event, make an Excel/Word doc that you can refer back to year after year.
Make a few copies of the "day of" agenda so that when someone jumps in & says "can I help you with something" you can refer them to the list without missing a beat!
Always start with a base of white dishes, white platters & neutral vases. Then you can liven the table & decor up with linens, flowers, ribbon & accents. The best part? All of your white goodies can be used for other holidays with a simple change of linens!
If possible, set the table (complete with chairs, plates, silverware and glassware) 2-3 nights before. This will help you ID anything you are short on & may need to buy
REMEMBER: Just as you're gluten-free, guests may have other food allergies. Do a formal or informal poll ahead of time to be as accommodating as possible.
Have a beverage station and an appetizer station set-up & ready to go by the time guests arrive. This allows people to select their drink of choice & nibble on some goodies, while you're able to keep on schedule
Don't be afraid to outsource some of the meal to save valuable time- we use premade poppyseed dressing because 1. it's delicious and 2. it couldn't be easier.
Make the kids feel special too - create an easter coloring book & have it bound with a special cover at Kinkos. Have special fun settings & decor at the kids table
Don't forget to have drink markers so everyone knows their drink. Our fave? Foam flowers cut to go around glass stem
Standout Easter Recipe: Asparagus & Butter Balsamic Sauce (gluten-free)
Glutenista: "When looking for an easy Easter side dish, naturally I went to allrecipes.com & searched by highest rated. I figured with 1100+ 4.5 star reviews, this would be a winner... and it was!"

Standout Easter Recipe (since 1983) - Easter Ham on the Weber Grill!
Glutenista: "This is a glutenista family tradition, started by my dad nearly 30 years ago! Easter Hams usually come pre-cooked & only need to be warmed, so a little time on the Weber charcoal grill adds an excellent flavor and frees up the oven for the rest of your Easter meal!"
Standout Easter Recipe: Raspberry Poppyseed Salad
Glutenista: "This salad screams SPRING! It's also incredibly easy to prepare, leaving you time to concentrate on the other standout parts of your meal, like the ham"
Gluten-Free Easter 2011
I am SO excited for this year's Gluten-Free Easter! We're now married & will be hosting a Gluten-Free Easter for our parents, siblings and TEN nieces &nephews under the age of 10. It will be a new challenge to figure out the best way to seat 25+ people at one table in our house. It will also be bittersweet as we say a prayer for my brother-in-law, who will be celebrating Easter while serving our country in Iraq.
The pros? Our kitchen will be well equipped with all of our fabulous wedding gifts, making preparation even easier. The late date means that weather should be nice & we can all get out & fly kites!
The cons? Our local gluten-free bakery closed, so I'm on the hook for making gluten-free bread. And I can't bring myself to scale back on potatoes - are 3 types too many???
We hope you have a fabulous Easter, Passover or SPRING Glutenistas!!! xoxo
