Classic Gluten-Free Green Bean Casserole Recipe
Confession: I never liked green bean casserole growing up. But once I was gluten-free I absolutely craved it! After years of gourmet green-bean casserole mishaps at the Thanksgiving table, Pacific Natural Foods answered our prayers & came out with a product that we had been coveting the most: Gluten-Free Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup. STEP 1: MAKE GLUTEN-FREE FRIED ONIONS
INGREDIENTS: · 2 White Onions (more if you want to sample as you cook!) · Buttermilk (Dairy-Free Alternative, per Silvana Nardone, is Seltzer water) · 1½ - 2 ½ Cups Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour or GF Bisquick · 1 tsp Gluten-Free Baking Powder · Cayenne Pepper, Salt & Black Pepper · Oil, for frying · Cast Iron Skillet or Dutch Oven
ENJOY! JUST TRY TO STOP YOURSELF FROM EATING ALL OF THE GLUTEN-FREE FRIED ONIONS! STEP 2: PREP REMAINING INGREDIENTS · 4 cups Cooked Green Beans (Canned French Style, Frozen or Fresh) · 2 boxes of Pacific Natural Foods GF Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup · ¼ cup Milk · 1 tsp Gluten-Free Tamari Sauce · Optional: Sliced Portabella Mushrooms · Optional: Cheddar Cheese Heat oven to 350 degrees. If desired, sauté portabella mushrooms in butter STEP 3: ASSEMBLE GLUTEN-FREE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE DELICIOUSNESS Combine all ingredients, except onions & cheese, in an oven-safe dish & stir. For thicker casserole, use only 1 ½ boxes of soup. STEP 4: BAKE Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes STEP 5: PERSONALIZE THE TOP! Remove from oven & sprinkle with cheese if desired. Top with gluten-free french fried onions (recipe above) and return to oven for 5 minutes, or until hot. STEP 6: ENJOY YOUR DELICIOUS GLUTEN-FREE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE!
